Sorry for the lame photo post, wanted to post something before the long weekend Mr.DJW and I have coming up! Work was SO much easier this week and I’m looking into starting my dual MBA/Masters in Finance degree soon. Still working hard at the baby making/TTC journey. I actually started a TTC vent post, but then it got longwinded and negative; so I decided not to post it. We’re too early in our journey for my random few minutes of frustration to get in the way of my overall positive attitude. Hope you have a good weekend! Happy ALMOST MARCH!!!

Happy V-day Lovahhhs & Hoaaas!<3

It was about this time last year that I was able to send out Valentine’s happy mail to some of my dear ITC friends. Did I realize back then how much they would impact my life? Probably not. Am I a better person for knowing them? Most definitely.

To all my ITC friends who’ve been with me through the last year+… Thank you! Thank you for your friendship, your words, your support, your ears, your hearts, your laughter, your tears, your shoulders… for sharing your life with mine and for taking in my life with yours… I am blessed far more than words can convey…

Happy Valentine’s Day!

—–

Mr.DJW and I don’t usually celebrate V-day out, but he made dinner reservations at a local Italian bistro that we have a $25 gift certificate for from a Christmas gift. And because  he’s not expecting anything — I sent him two dozen of these yummies:

I hope he doesn’t eat them all at work and brings some home for me to eat! ;) We were also going to go watch my boyfriend Channing Tatum in “The Vow” after dinner, but since the Red Wings are playing a record-breaking game tonight, I obliged him by offering to watch the hockey game instead. Don’t worry — I’ll still drag him to “The Vow.”

Happy Tuesday (because really, Vday is yet another Hallmark holiday!) and all my love to you and your loved ones on this Cupid day.

xoxo

Happy Birthday to My Dear Gracie

From our wedding website:

“Grace and I have been friends since middle school. She is my heart and my conscience. We have shared so many laughs and tears that I would never share with anyone else. There are no walls, no judgments, just loving truth in our friendship. Our moms have seen us grow up and out of so many stages of teenage years together, that in their hearts, we are still their little girls. Grace is currently studying to be a dentist and is helping me on all of my bridal adventures. And that’s how it always is when we get together, an adventure… even the simplest of coffee dates is a wild ride when it’s with us. She is the baby of the bridal party and so she is the mascot! Although, she’ll be my leader in keeping this bridal party in line! ;)

Today, I celebrate the birthday of one of my oldest, loyal, and honest friends I’ve had in my entire life. As with each passing year, I’ve learned a lot of life lessons and when I look back – Gracie has been there for me every step of the way; whether I knew it or not. I think that’s the thing that I appreciate the most about our friendship: the endurance through the test of time and life’s ups/downs. I’m even luckier that she lives just a few miles away from us and that we get to spend QT together that is hard to come by these days when everyone is so busy living their daily lives.

Mr.DJW and her fiance are buds too, which makes it all that much more enjoyable when the four of us get together. They are two peas in a pod as Gracie and I have been nearly all our lives.

We’re off to celebrate her birthday tonight at Tin Fish and then tomorrow is my Me-Time day as Mr.DJW is working until the afternoon. Hope you all have a great weekend!

XOXO

Cycle 2

January 2012 was our second cycle of TTC for babydubs; that resulted in a…

BFN! (big fat negative) no babydubs this month!

You can check our TTC journey progress here: Cycle 1

When I left you last, we were gearing up for a better attempt at TTC our second cycle. I’m proud to report that we are getting better and better each month. I know more than I ever learned during 5th grade awkward, period lecture about the female reproductive system and feel more and more prepared with each passing cycle (mind you it’s only been two!)

When I spoke to you last at the end of Cycle 1, I mentioned that my cycles were “unusually long.” Well – I take that back. LOL. Apparently, my body has longer than average cycles (~36 days). At first, I was worried that this would me a harder journey to baby, but from what I’ve heard around these parts and from my doctor – as long as I’m “regular,” a longer cycle should not weigh against us in our journey to baby dubs.

Mr.DJW and I had “a lot of fun” trying to figure out a BABY DANCING schedule that would fit our schedules without losing spontaneity. He was a trooper, listening to all my mumbo jumbo tid bits and info about TTC and baby dancing! :P Thank goodness for dear husband, without whom I’d be an absolute nutcase! (:

Just to give you a recap — we mostly used the “every other day” method around the week of ovulation. I used OPKs and received a positive on CD21~22… I think we gave it our best shot for what we know to do at this point. I suck at temping/charting, so after we realized that we weren’t pregnant this month – I ordered a digital fertility monitor from eBay - which will be here any day now! :) I’ll be back with updates on how it helps/doesn’t help our journey!

These last couple of weeks have been greuling… and during my TWW, I stayed away from working out (excuses, excuses): so my goal this month is to focus on myself, my body, and really try to be mentally and physically healthy!

Baby dust to all my fellow TTC women! Cheers to a successfuly Cycle 3: Third time’s a charm? (:
