Furbabies & babies

I’ve been busy with the Dubs’ clan puppies today. Buddy got a haircut and they’re both anxiously awaiting their annual shots at the vet as I type.
We adore our babies. They love unconditionally and are the best cuddlers in the world!
Bailey is a lover. She’ll snuggle with you 24.7 if she could! Buddy is our protector! Don’t let that 12 pound yorkie fool you, he’s got a mean bark and will guard us from everything!
I know it will definitely be an adjustment if/when baby dubs enters our world. I only hope that their human-loving natures will make the transition as smooth as possible. We’re going to try our best not to neglect them, as they’ve never gone without their loyalty/attention to us. Thankfully, they are smaller dogs and we won’t have a hard time managing them physically.
Any tips? How has the transition process been for you with introducing furbabies to real life baby?
Roller Coaster
I’ve always told my single girlfriends that marriage isn’t always rainbows and butterflies (but that it is ALL WORTH IT). I wish I would’ve known to tell myself that about the TTC journey. While I don’t want to go into too much detail, as to respect Mr.DJW’s privacy, we’ve run into an unexpected hiccup in our new journey that has put a temporary damper on TTC for both of us. I’m not whining because there are so many other problems that we could face and so many of my friends have been on a painful journey of TTC, but it’s the fear of the unknown that scares me most.
I don’t want to depress you or worry you, Mr.DJW went to the doctor and is currently on medication to take care of things. But, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, if you have spare room. <3 Your support is what gets me through these times!
As always, it’s too soon in our journey for me to get down about anything and luckily I have a personal day from work to spend some me-time and re-energize in all aspects of my life. I had a great workout with Mr.DJW last night and I’m just about to finish up some work and house cleaning to workout again.
I’ll be needing a Starbucks later today to get me through some aggressive Christmas shopping. It’s the little things that keep me smiling.
And to end on a cheery note: HAPPY DECEMBER (from Bailey & Buddy) – our furbabies are so spoiled that they got an international package of doggy advent calendar treats from my cousin’s gf in Germany!

They look miserable in their coats…
LOLOLOL I torture them too much.
Day 9: Someone You Love

At first I was going to take a photo of hubby, but I did a post on him during a different blog challenge. So I decided to post a pic of the two other loves of my life, our furbabies: Bailey & Buddy.
They have provided me with unconditional love and adoration. They have given me a companionship in a way that only pets can provide their owners.
Love my furbabies!
Camping Adventure
So for those of you that read my birthday week entries a few weeks ago, you should already know that Mr.DJW took me and our furbabies camping for our my birthday weekend. When he had asked me last month what I wanted for my birthday, I told him two things: I wanted to be surprised & I wanted romance. I just wanted QT with my hubby.
And so after a week of bday festivities with friends and family, Hubby and I took our furbabies, Bailey & Buddy, up to Higgins Lake for our camping adventure! And boy, was it an adventure!
After spending most of the day trying to take out the trailer hitch that had rusted onto Mr.DJW’s truck, we made a pit stop at Wal-Mart in Bay City for our mountain bikes and got up to the campsite, just after the sun went down. Needless to say, we had to setup camp in the dark with the help of our flashlight/lanterns. We were surprised at how quickly we were ready to go!

We had a late night BBQ for dinner and I thoroughly enjoyed toasting marshmallows on our campfire!
So did Mr.DJW, mmm isn’t he zexay?
We stayed up until 2am roasting marshmallows and watching the packed campsite slowly die down and enjoyed being out in the woods. Yes, I’m a nature freak. I LOVED every minute of being outdoors.
Our sleeping bags were actually surpringsly cozy and the double decker air mattress that Mr.DJW’s parents lent us made for a very comfortable sleep in the tent. Until the rain started. Yep, at 6am, both of us awoke to the sound of rain pouring down on our tent. Luckily, hubby is a great outdoorsman (Eagle Scout, Sir!) and our 9x7ft. tent sturdily held up throughout the morning storm and kept us dry.
We laid in our sleeping bags for an hour or so, just laughing about our bad luck. But, smiled knowing that this first camping trip is one we’ll never forget. And a story to be told to our kids someday in the future.
Once, the rain cleared out, we got out and made the most of a rainy campground.
The furbabies were so well behaved! I think we tricked them into it by feeding them extra hot dogs from our bbQ (4x)!
NOMNOMNOM. It was delicious!
After our fights with the rain, we decided to take the dogs for a bike run. In the middle of our ride, it started thunderstorming. All of us got soaking wet! I think it’s what made the ride that much sweeter!
After the ride, we decided to pack up, as we didn’t want to spend another night in the rain. It was a short 24 hour camping experience in the woods, but it couldn’t have been any more perfect.
We made the most of it, laughed lots, and created new memories that I will cherish forever. <3
