Baby Shower #2 Recap (*photo heavy*)

Two weekends ago, Mr.Dubs and I had another wonderful baby shower with some of my girlfriends and family.

It was at the Brio Tuscan Grille that we frequent on our date nights and needless to say, we both thoroughly enjoyed the food and spending time with friends/family. This baby boy is already so loved and spoiled! I honestly cannot think of many things that we’ll need to get after both baby showers! We were gifted so many things, I am in awe of the support and generosity that Mr.Dubs and I are surrounded by on a daily basis.

Without further ado– some lots of pictures:

Opening Gifts!

Gift Bag Time & 1 Game! (I’m not a huge fan of shower games, so we passed out gift bags to guests who matched or came close to certain dates: due date, my bday, mr.dubs’ bday, etc.) We did one game, where guests cut pieces of yarn to measure the size of my belly! :)

Picture Time w/Guests! :)

To our friends & family:

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much for your love and support. We are so blessed and grateful to have you in our lives. We cannot wait to embark on this journey together, surrounded in your warmth and love. Words cannot express the happiness we feel knowing that our lil’ boy is coming into a world filled with so many wonderful friends and family. Thank you.

Gracie – my soul sista since middle/high school years got married this past weekend. It was absolutely perfect in every way and she was the most stunning bride! :)

On top of it all, my brother flew in for the wedding, and my BFF Sarah was in town for our baby shower and attended the wedding with us as well! :) All in all, it was a GREAT weekend and I can’t believe it’s already over!

Movie & A Panic Attack

On the eve of Mr.Dubs and my return to work after a week long vacation, we headed over to the local cinema (oh how I wish we actually called it that~) and caught a showing of:

Mr.Dubs and I made plans to see it way back when we got our BFP and we saw the previews during The Hunger Games movie. All in all, it was full of laughs and jokes for us, but I don’t recommend non-TTC/Pregnant/Parents/etc. go see the movie, it really isn’t ALLL THATTT in the comedy genre unless you’re able to identify with the topic. Believe me, we know firsthand, three of our poor, single guy friends opted to watch this with us instead of seeing the new Snow White movie. If I recall correctly, Mr.Dubs said to me “I can’t believe they’re watching this, I feel bad!”

Honestly, I don’t even know that the topic of pregnancy is what enticed me to see it in the first place. If I’m being really frank with  you, the preview scene of Biggie playing in the background and the baby daddies pushin’ their strollas and wearin’ dembabies all hard and tough to the tunes of “BIG POPPA” is what got my hopes up that it might be a decently funny movie.

Anyway, for the most part I enjoyed it, but near the end, I started feeling nervous. Their labor scenes weren’t invasive or graphic, and honestly, I’ve seen a lot worse in other non-pregnancy related movies in the past. But, now that I’m in the 5 month countdown to childbirth and parenthood, (add to that my raging hormones), I’m definitely having bouts of random panic attacks.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m so grateful to be blessed with this gift. My heart breaks for so many of my dear friends who are in the throws of TTC bumps and obstacles. I can’t even imagine the pain that they must go through, but being 4+ pregnant, it’s finally starting to sink in that in just a short time period, I will experience one of the most painful acts of life and (along with Mr.Dubs) be responsible for the life of a tiny baby.

There is so much to learn. It’s all really overwhelming. I only hope that I’ll be able to “go with the flow,” as my mentality has been with the greater part of child birth, and take everything step by step; just trusting that we will somehow manage to figure it all out.

I can’t promise you that this will be the last of my vents, but thanks for listening. WOOOSAH.

Breakfast at “Tiffianey’s” Bridal Shower<3

A few weekends ago, I got to see a few close gfs for our girl Tiffianey’s bridal shower weekend! :) We used to all live in the same town during college years, but scattered around the states as we found jobs and joined the real world! While we make an effort to see each other when we can (ANNUAL VACATIONS WOO!) it’s few and far between, so I cherish the times I get to have them nearby! It was a weekend full of girl gabbin, junk food eatin’, wedding craftin’ fun and I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything else that weekend!

Tiffianey’s sister Tonya went all out for the shower and the lil’ details of that day were so pretty and cute!!

“Tiffianey” box cupcakes!

That’s my friend Tiffianey’s face on Audrey Hepburn’s classic photo! :P

Me and the Bride to Be!

Tiff & Gene’s wedding weekend is coming up on this year Memorial Day weekend! Mr.Dubs and I are thrilled to be able to participate in the festivities!

As for me — I’ll be off on a road trip to Chicago this weekend to spend some QT with a few of my other gfs/bridesmaids that I haven’t been able to see in SO long! :) Be back with another photo update next week. Have a great weekend y’all!

Happy V-day Lovahhhs & Hoaaas!<3

It was about this time last year that I was able to send out Valentine’s happy mail to some of my dear ITC friends. Did I realize back then how much they would impact my life? Probably not. Am I a better person for knowing them? Most definitely.

To all my ITC friends who’ve been with me through the last year+… Thank you! Thank you for your friendship, your words, your support, your ears, your hearts, your laughter, your tears, your shoulders… for sharing your life with mine and for taking in my life with yours… I am blessed far more than words can convey…

Happy Valentine’s Day!

—–

Mr.DJW and I don’t usually celebrate V-day out, but he made dinner reservations at a local Italian bistro that we have a $25 gift certificate for from a Christmas gift. And because  he’s not expecting anything — I sent him two dozen of these yummies:

I hope he doesn’t eat them all at work and brings some home for me to eat! ;) We were also going to go watch my boyfriend Channing Tatum in “The Vow” after dinner, but since the Red Wings are playing a record-breaking game tonight, I obliged him by offering to watch the hockey game instead. Don’t worry — I’ll still drag him to “The Vow.”

Happy Tuesday (because really, Vday is yet another Hallmark holiday!) and all my love to you and your loved ones on this Cupid day.

xoxo
