Weekend Plans

Happy Friday from JY & BabyBoyDubs!

Thank goodness for casual dress on Fridays. I am comfy in my maternity tshirt, nonmaternity jeans (rubber bandin’ it), and new nike running shoes! :)

This weekend, we will be at the 24 week mark! Viability! WOOT WOOT! :) Which also means, if we’re lucky, we have 16 more weeks to prepare, finish the nursery, stock up on all things baby, and spend the last of “just us two” time as best as we can together. EEEEEEEK!

With baby showers, weddings, birthdays, etc. — our August and September weekends are pretty packed full! So this weekend, we’re going to take the time to spend some much needed QT with one another! :)

Friday Night

I’m so geeked because tonight is THE OPENING CEREMONIES for the OLYMPICS 2012!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!

Mr.Dubs is working late, so I’ll be picking up some Thai take-out for us to enjoy while enjoying the show tonight! Mr.Dubs doesn’t have high hopes, since we were blown away by the show at Beijing, but it’s still an exciting time! I can’t wait to spend the next month watching Olympics coverage! :)

Saturday Morning

I have a 9am appointment with the best hairstylist ever, Tony! My already horsetail-like hair is growing rapidly, definitely need a trim and thinning out. I’m also thinking of highlights for summer (even though it’s half over!)… I’m going to keep the length… and probably save the major CHOP for post-baby.

My hair through the last couple of years with Tony:

Saturday

I told Mr.Dubs that since I will be glammed up from the morning hair session, he’ll have to come up with some ideas as to our day! I want to be out and about so I can show off my hairdo~~~~ OH THE VANITY.

Saturday Night

No solid plans, but we’ll def be taking the furbabies for a stroll around the outdoor mall or nearby park. Then, mostly catch a movie after dinner at home!

Sunday

Church, then QT with my parents. MMMM KOREAN FOOD. SO EXCITED.

Nothing too exciting, and pretty normal as our weekends go; but Mr.Dubs worked the last few Saturdays, so it’ll be nice to have him home all weekend. <3

Any fun plans this weekend?

Wknd Recap via Instagram

As I mentioned on Saturday’s post, DH and I made a pact to do lots of activities in order for us to make the most of our “US” time that we take for granted so easily.

As planned, Saturday night, we ran to Taco Bell (packed full of teenagers) grabbed our unhealthy dinner and headed over to the theater to see American Reunion! The 9pm show was sold out, so we took our time eating in the car, people watching (outdoor mall), and then proceeded to wait for the 10pm theater to be cleaned (only to realize, they hadn’t changed the sign, and we could’ve gone in!)

American Reunion was great! It was just the laughter we needed, though we definitely lamented that we were “old,” as we were walking out of the theater. It makes sense that we identified with the older generation, right? I mean it was based on the HS c/o 1999! (DH’s HS Grad Year!). They did a good job of keeping in line with the old movies and they were even able to bring everyone back! Original cast? Even better!

Our Sunday was action packed! I woke up early to go teach Sunday school…(I bribe my girls to listen with bagels! LOL)

Then, Mr.Dubs picked me up and we were on our way to the Red Wings home opener for the first playoff series against Nashville!

The Wings lost and the series is now at 2-1 (Nashville), but it was still a fun day date outing! :) We stopped by Coldstone for some yummy ice cream and then took our furbabies to a nearby park that we haven’t been to, it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

Our full day of activities wiped us out, Mr.Dubs and I ended up falling asleep at 6pm! Of course, I woke up at 1030pm! I got some stuff ready for the work week, had a delicious midnight snack of hummus and pretzels, and read a lil of “50 Shades of Grey,” before falling back asleep at 2am!

How was your weekend?

Lazy Weekend

Today is another Saturday that Mr.Dubs had to work. I usually try to make a productive me-day out of these Saturdays to myself, but am finding that the drizzling rain outside is making me very lazy. Either that, or the fact that I slept in until 11am!!!!!

The fur babies are lazily lying around and I am trying to figure out a belated to do list for the rest of the afternoon. I am also contemplating what to eat for lunch. I slept my way through breakfast, so a delicious lunch is definitely in order.

I feel like these days, the only things I look forward to is food and sleep. Work is draining and so is the up and downs of the TTC journey. So to get me through, I count down to delicious meals and the weekends where I get to fully enjoy sleeping in. Mr.Dubs’ best friend always tells us to cherish these weekends, because once a baby is in the picture, sleeping in is not an option! (He has three adorable sons!)

Mr.Dubs and I made a pact for 2012 that despite not planning our annual vacation or two, we will fill our time with spontaneous, fun activities and date nights, coupled with a few wknd road trips throughout the year, in hopes that we are able to thoroughly cherish our ‘just us’ time before babies are an actual, living breathing part of our lives! :)

So tonight, we’re going to order a bag of unhealthy Taco Bell goodness and sneak our 4th meal into the theater to watch American Reunion! Then tomorrow, after church we’ll be heading down to the D for the Red Wings playoffs home opener.

Yay for fun weekends, what are you up to this wknd?

(and here’s a pic, because a post without a pic is almost always boring on my blog!)

Breakfast at “Tiffianey’s” Bridal Shower<3

A few weekends ago, I got to see a few close gfs for our girl Tiffianey’s bridal shower weekend! :) We used to all live in the same town during college years, but scattered around the states as we found jobs and joined the real world! While we make an effort to see each other when we can (ANNUAL VACATIONS WOO!) it’s few and far between, so I cherish the times I get to have them nearby! It was a weekend full of girl gabbin, junk food eatin’, wedding craftin’ fun and I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything else that weekend!

Tiffianey’s sister Tonya went all out for the shower and the lil’ details of that day were so pretty and cute!!

“Tiffianey” box cupcakes!

That’s my friend Tiffianey’s face on Audrey Hepburn’s classic photo! :P

Gifts! (Don’t mind that one funky lookin’ bag! :P )

Me and the Bride to Be!

Tiff & Gene’s wedding weekend is coming up on this year Memorial Day weekend! Mr.Dubs and I are thrilled to be able to participate in the festivities!

As for me — I’ll be off on a road trip to Chicago this weekend to spend some QT with a few of my other gfs/bridesmaids that I haven’t been able to see in SO long! :) Be back with another photo update next week. Have a great weekend y’all!

Happy Birthday to My Dear Gracie

From our wedding website:

“Grace and I have been friends since middle school. She is my heart and my conscience. We have shared so many laughs and tears that I would never share with anyone else. There are no walls, no judgments, just loving truth in our friendship. Our moms have seen us grow up and out of so many stages of teenage years together, that in their hearts, we are still their little girls. Grace is currently studying to be a dentist and is helping me on all of my bridal adventures. And that’s how it always is when we get together, an adventure… even the simplest of coffee dates is a wild ride when it’s with us. She is the baby of the bridal party and so she is the mascot! Although, she’ll be my leader in keeping this bridal party in line! ;)

Today, I celebrate the birthday of one of my oldest, loyal, and honest friends I’ve had in my entire life. As with each passing year, I’ve learned a lot of life lessons and when I look back – Gracie has been there for me every step of the way; whether I knew it or not. I think that’s the thing that I appreciate the most about our friendship: the endurance through the test of time and life’s ups/downs. I’m even luckier that she lives just a few miles away from us and that we get to spend QT together that is hard to come by these days when everyone is so busy living their daily lives.

Mr.DJW and her fiance are buds too, which makes it all that much more enjoyable when the four of us get together. They are two peas in a pod as Gracie and I have been nearly all our lives.

We’re off to celebrate her birthday tonight at Tin Fish and then tomorrow is my Me-Time day as Mr.DJW is working until the afternoon. Hope you all have a great weekend!

XOXO
